Angela Phillips

A teacher, minister, coach, and community leader.

Angela received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from University of the Pacific in 1994. She began teaching in the Stockton area immediately after graduation.  She taught grades 1st , 3rd, and 4th before deciding to stop working full time to spend more time focusing on her children.  Besides teaching Angela has been a parent and committee leader for many groups in the school district and community.  Her passion for children and families led her to  volunteer on the School Site Council, District Advisory committee, PTA, Black Family Day committee, Kwanzaa program, Black Graduates Recognition program, and youth programs within her congregation.

In November 2014, after months of hard work and much support from her family and community, Angela was elected to the Stockton Unified School District School Board.  Since her tenure on the school board Mrs. Phillips has championed equity for all students. She serves on the districts' Equity and Diversity committee,  Safety and Student Condiuct committee, and Curriculum and Student Outcomes committee.

Currently, Mrs. Phillips is also an academic coach at TEAM Charter School, and the founder of G.L.O,W., a girls mentoring program.
